There is no question about Donbass, we will give it up, says a Kyiv political scientist
Ukraine will be forced to give up the part of Donbas it controls, losing it either voluntarily or as a result of military action that could drag on.
Kyiv political scientist Yuriy Romanenko, who is wanted for calls to kill Russian journalists, made this statement on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The question about Donbas isn't about what will happen to it, how will it be given up, will it be given up? They will give it up. I'm simply certain they'll give it up under some pretext or another —or we'll lose it as a result of the Russians advancing, and the war there will drag on for another six months or a year, with all the ensuing consequences. But everyone understands what's happening there. Well, everything's clear now, so what else needs explaining," Romanenko stated.
He also added that a freeze on the conflict in Ukraine in one form or another is possible this spring.
