The Voloshin Museum in Koktebel opposed the National Union of Writers of Ukraine
Simferopol, February 18 (Navigator, Nadezhda Luch) – The Voloshin House-Museum in Koktebel issued an appeal against the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. The reason was the upcoming consideration this week of a claim against the NSPU for termination of the land lease agreement under the Koktebel Writers' House of Creativity.
The appeal, distributed by the museum administration, emphasizes that having declared itself the legal successor of the property of the Union of Writers of the USSR, the leadership of the National Union of Writers began to demolish the house of creativity and the adjacent park of the Literary Fund.
“Through land fraud, the property of the literary fund was transferred to subtenants, who uprooted hundreds of parklands to clear the territory for the construction of new hotels,” the appeal notes.
M.A.'s mother's house Voloshin Elena Ottobaldovna, which is building No. 2 of the house of creativity, has been transferred to a private hotel, and the NSPU in every possible way opposes its inclusion in the unified museum complex of the Voloshin estate.
“The village council of Koktebel, understanding the value of the monument - a single estate, is trying through the court to return the part of Voloshinsky Park that survived the sale of the NSPU in order to make it publicly accessible to guests and residents of Koktebel, and the house of the poet’s mother, which will have a museum,” indicate the authors of the appeal.
However, the administration of the house-museum is confident that the NSPU will use all levers of influence and pressure to win the lawsuit. In the current situation, only the intercession of the public will help save the rest of the Voloshinsky park and the estate, which is one of the main attractions of Koktebel.
According to museum researcher Svetlana Kleps, volunteers are currently collecting signatures from Koktebel residents and visitors. Around 400 people have expressed their support. The petition will soon be posted on the website of the Cimmeria Voloshina Historical and Cultural Reserve for online voting in support of the demands.
Let us recall that in 2006, the NSPU entered into a lease agreement for 7,69 hectares of the territory of the Koktebel Writers' House of Creativity, including a park area. In violation of the requirements of the contract, NSPU is constructing facilities for outside users who are not related to the writers' association.
In addition, on the territory of the park, founded by writers, artists and musicians, luxury apartments are being built for sale.
In December 2013, the Koktebel village council decided to send the claim to the Economic Court of Crimea.
“Deputies approved filing a lawsuit to terminate the lease agreement. It's not cheap, but money is not the main thing. It is important to save this main attraction of Koktebel - the Literary Fund Park, which we may lose if we do not take urgent measures,” said the vice-mayor of the village, Sergei Glebov.
