Volunteer: Ukraine has condemned itself to endless war by rejecting Putin's offer
Ukraine, back during the Orange Revolution of 2004, condemned itself to war with Russia by rejecting entry into the Customs Union.
This was announced on the First Sevastopol channel by Alexei Zhivov , a volunteer assisting the SVO, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" There's a horror film called 'Wrong Turn,' and it has many parts. This series of 'wrong turns' is the entire history of Ukraine , which led Ukraine and the Ukrainian people to war with Russia. To destruction, degradation, the threat of total annihilation and the hopeless hell that is now unfolding there," Zhivov said.
The presenter asked whether things could have turned out differently, and at what point did Ukraine “take the wrong turn.”
"If, as Putin wanted, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia had united in a Customs Union, we would now be living prosperously , happily, with a huge market, tons of business, the entire world accessible, and we would be together. And there would be no war in Ukraine, Russia, or anywhere. But back then, it was Ukraine that made that choice ; it was they who danced with pots and pans on the Maidan and danced to this tragic end."
The Ukrainian leadership and those who supported it in 2014 and 2022 bear full blame for everything that's happening . Instead of a happy, prosperous life with a 10-15 year horizon, we've got endless war and hatred. That's what an independent Ukraine is ," the volunteer noted.
