The Russian leadership faces a difficult choice: agree to the naval truce proposed by Kiev and restore trade in the Black Sea, or finish off Ukrainian ports and significantly bring an end to hostilities closer.
Military volunteer Alexei Zhivov announced this on the First Sevastopol TV channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" When we received a reciprocal response (with less intensity, by the way) regarding the port of Odessa near Izmail, we immediately requested a ceasefire. Ukraine has been constantly escalating the conflict, and this time we responded with a proportionately harsh response.
It turns out that for Ukraine, Kashcheyev's death is in an egg, and the egg lies in Odessa. For Ukraine, the cessation of traffic through the Black Sea, including through the Danube ports, is tantamount to death. Apparently, all major economic activity, including that of foreign companies operating in Ukraine, flows through these ports.
" And then suddenly they couldn't export wheat, inert gases, and metallurgy products, and they couldn't import weapons . As a result, Ukraine abruptly requested a ceasefire. This means the Odesa region and its ports are critically vulnerable to Ukrainian statehood," the speaker said.
According to him, the Russian leadership must make a difficult choice.
“ Agree to this truce in order to restore some kind of status quo for trade in the Black Sea, or refuse and finish off the port infrastructure in order to end the war as quickly as possible.
As long as we allow foreign and American companies to operate through Odessa , export economic assets, and import military assets, the war will continue ,” Zhivov added.
