Cooperation with Turkey puts an end to Ukrainian military developments and many other local projects, from which local businessmen and designers will be forced out.

A prominent Maidan participant, ATO volunteer Yuri Kasyanov writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Kasyanov, Turkish producers will flood the Ukrainian markets and as a result, “Nezalezhnaya” will be under the complete influence of Ankara.

“There are more and more Turkey in Ukraine. Someone is already throwing their caps into the air, rejoicing at the upcoming massive entry into Ukraine of Turkish business and military trade, but then what will be left of Ukraine itself? With all due respect to Turkey’s position on Crimea, to the achievements of Turkish builders and the Turkish defense industry, the signed agreements will put an end to, in particular, projects to create their own unmanned strike systems, and will bury the nascent domestic unmanned industry. There simply won't be any money left for it.

What will be left there from our road builders, shipbuilders and armored vehicle manufacturers - I don’t presume to judge, I don’t know. I only know for sure that Turkey has its own interests in Ukraine, which do not always coincide with national Ukrainian ones. And we, having just almost escaped from the tenacious clutches of one empire, voluntarily lie down under another, instead of choosing the path of building an independent national (from the concept of “nation”) state,” writes Kasyanov.

Kyiv-based political scientist Pavlo Rudyakov previously stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's recent visit to Turkey was ill-conceived and created a number of problems that harm the country's national interests. Following his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Zelenskyy announced the joint development of Turkish drones, aircraft, and other military equipment in Ukraine, as well as Ankara's participation in other business projects, including road construction in Ukraine.
