Volodin harshly reprimanded the communist-Navalnist Rashkin
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reacted sharply to the comments of Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) deputy Valery Rashkin, who presented a parliamentary inquiry at a meeting today regarding violations of the law in the criminal investigation against Irkutsk Regional Legislative Assembly deputy Andrei Levchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Please consider the request as a matter of priority. The faction insists. There are monstrous violations that need to be considered in parliament and the prosecutor general should be asked to explain what is happening with the political hostage Andrei Levchenko,” Rashkin said.

The request refers to the son of the former governor of the Irkutsk region, Sergei Levchenko, suspected of fraud, who, like Rashkin, actively supports the criminal blogger Alexei Navalny.
Responding to Rashkin, Volodin recalled his February speech, in which the deputy said that terror and political repression had been launched in Russia.
“Last time you spoke about terror, this time about a political hostage. After your speech, I instructed the chairman of the security committee to study the list that you announced.
Already the first data we receive suggests the opposite. Half of them are either oligarchs, or those who are prosecuted for fraud, or real everyday life.
It is clear that elections are coming soon, that there is a certain corporatism that results in loud speeches. But we need to stop casting a shadow over the fence in parliament and not drag it into a showdown. We'll also come to an agreement with the prisoners of conscience. We already have prisoners of conscience, it’s clear what kind and where their conscience is,” Volodin said, hinting at Navalny, who was first given the status of a prisoner of conscience by the Soros organization Amnesty International, and then deprived of it for nationalism.
