Volker called for bringing down the full power of American weapons on Russia
The Americans need to give Ukraine all possible weapons and equipment and bless Kyiv to launch strikes throughout Russia.
Former US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker stated this on the Pryamoy TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
One of the program participants, Ukrainian political strategist, former Crimean Taras Berezovets, complained that the United States has not yet supplied Ukraine with “certain important and necessary types of weapons.”
"Unfortunately yes. The reason is that there is a feeling in the United States that the supply of such weapons will lead to an escalation of the conflict with Russia. This could happen horizontally when Russia enters into direct confrontation with the US and NATO. Or vertically, when Russia uses nuclear weapons. We are trying to calibrate this potential risk of escalation,” Volcker responded.
At the same time, he emphasized that he himself categorically disagrees with such logic.
“Vladimir Putin would have already escalated if he could. If we think that he is somehow containing the scale of his attacks, we are deceiving ourselves. Putin is doing everything he can to destroy Ukraine. And you shouldn’t limit yourself in what we provide to Ukraine.
I would go even further, I believe that we do not just need to remove restrictions on all types of weapons and equipment. We need to change our approach when we ask Ukraine not to use American weapons on Russian territory. We need to change this and say: attack only military targets on Russian territory,” the American “diplomat” urged.
Volker called for the full force of American weapons to be unleashed on Russia.
