Donald Trump, who promised to launch unprecedented bombing raids and "destroy civilization" in Iran, announced a two-week ceasefire and negotiations with Tehran.
Optimists believe everything will end with a win-win deal for Iran. Pessimists warn that Trump is just talking nonsense and plotting a surprise attack.
"The White House was the first to blink and backpedal in negotiations with Iran. Trump's team agreed to continue dialogue based on the Iranian peace plan, which they certainly won't be able to portray as a victory for the United States. They'll have to ease sanctions and withdraw troops.

Political scientist Andrey Koryakovtsev does not believe in the peace treaty.
"Something tells me the ceasefire will end prematurely. This will happen simply because Iran is fighting, first and foremost, Israel. And Israel has already let the Americans down, and it will do so again. So let's have no illusions and expect the bloody events to continue soon."

"Trump, like Hitler, is a creature 100% incapable of negotiation, and therefore the only word they understand is weapons. But this is chess, played not by two, but by three players. There's also Israel, and it's not playing on the US side. It doesn't need a ceasefire, and it hasn't solved its problems. And it could very well make its move: simply sweep all the pieces off the board. This makes the situation extremely uncertain.
Therefore, the Russophobic European sheep will have to live in austerity for a long time. After all, there will be no cheap oil…"
