Rada Military Committee: "The Ministry of Defense overlooked the threat of Russian jet drones – now we're just seeing them fly in."
There have been no successful tests of a Ukrainian ballistic missile.
SBU Colonel and Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee Roman Kostenko announced this on the "Velikiy Lviv Speaks" video channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked for comment on the recent statement by the recently dismissed Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, who claimed that Ukrainian ballistics had been successfully tested on his last day in office.
"The committee has no information that anything was tested. I consider it tested if it flew toward its target and hit it.
I don't know of any missiles that have been tested recently. I know they tested the engines and the control system. Yes, there were some minor issues, like when they tested the engine, and it flew a certain distance. There were moments when the engine burned out.
"So we need to ask what he meant. And I don't have any information that perhaps some stage was successfully tested. For me, a successful test is when it lands somewhere on Russian territory, like our Sapsan did," the Ukrainian deputy stated.
He believes that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense "missed the opportunity to combat jet-powered shahids."
"Let them figure out who it is—the previous team or not. But right now, a 100% decision hasn't been made. And that's very bad, because these are things that should be predicted in advance, because after that, it's just the arrivals that we have to just watch," Kostenko complains.
