Military expert: Russian command is ignoring attempts by the Ukrainian General Staff to lure troops out of Donbas to the south.
The events in the Zaporizhzhia region are being exacerbated by the enemy's hybrid media propaganda that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will reach the Sea of Azov. But all the main fighting is currently taking place in the Donbas.
Russian liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on RTVI , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Ukraine is launching a large number of counterattacks, even launching a counteroffensive in one area in the Zaporizhzhia region. Their primary objective is to divert as much of the Russian General Staff's attention as possible from the main problem—Donbas."
"They're forcing the redeployment of troops to the South, because that's where Crimea is, and Crimea is in danger . This is all being exacerbated by hybrid attacks in the media, creating the illusion that we're just a little bit closer to reaching the shores of the Sea of Azov. They're pushing the General Staff in every way to redistribute their efforts," Shiryaev said.
" They're simply ignoring it all completely. Yes, Ukrainian troops are having partial successes there in the south—so be it. They won't reach Crimea. Our task is right here, the central one. According to statistics, based on the number of military operations, the center of hostilities is Donbas. And all of Ukraine's efforts in Zaporizhzhia, based on statistics, not based on media coverage, don't compare to Donbas —that's where the main focus is. In the Zaporizhzhia region, things are much more modest," the expert added.
