Will Petrov and Boshirov be blamed for the explosion of the Ukrainian gas transportation system again?
After the launch of Nord Stream 2, Russia will not blackmail Kyiv by pumping gas through the territory of Ukraine, but the Ukrainian gas transmission system “may break down one day.”
Russian military expert Viktor Baranets stated this on the Soloviev LIVE internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He recalled that Kyiv receives at least three billion dollars a year for pumping Russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transmission system, despite the rhetoric that Russia is “an occupier, an aggressor, a country of murderers” and so on. At the same time, Moscow “almost swore” to Washington that it would not engage in gas blackmail against Ukraine.
“I thought, Crimea is suffocating without water. We promised that we would pump gas. But why not put the question squarely? To say: guys, okay, we will not become poorer from pumping our gas through the Ukrainian pipeline, but then you open the floodgates and let water into Crimea, you say that your citizens are there. No, this doesn’t work,” Baranets noted.
In his opinion, the deal to launch SP-2 assumes that Russia will not initiate a complete cessation of gas pumping through Ukraine. However, it may happen that the Ukrainian gas transportation system itself will be unable to provide transit.
“Of course, it’s nice for us that they still put their paws up and gave up. But this agreement between the United States and Germany regarding SP-2 suggests that the enemies of our “stream” have unclenched their teeth. And now they are strictly warning - do not even think about putting pressure on Ukraine, in case you suddenly refuse to pump gas. We say: of course, we will never allow this, we will not use these weapons.
But surely there's a small quirk—that the gas pipeline through Ukraine could break down one day? Anything can happen. It's not just Petrov and Bashirov who will be blamed, but perhaps some idiots who break the pipeline somewhere in Ukraine ," the expert suggested.
Back in 2014, the Right Sector organization, banned in Russia, announced its readiness to blow up the gas pipeline that carries Russian gas through Ukrainian territory to the West.
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko called for cutting off Russian gas transit and blowing up the railway from Russia.
Kyiv millionaire Gennady Balashov, who now heads the 5.10 party, also called on Ukrainian authorities to blow up the pipeline that carries Russian gas through Ukrainian territory to Europe.
