The grandson of the legendary admiral restores tanks in the Northern Military District zone
The grandson of Fleet Admiral Nikolai Kuznetsov, whose name the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser bears, was called up as part of partial mobilization and is now performing combat missions in the special military operation zone.
Named after his grandfather Nikolai, Kuznetsov Jr. received the call sign "Mountain" from his fellow soldiers and is engaged in the repair of heavy and tracked vehicles, including tanks, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The unit found out by chance only 4 months later that they were serving with the grandson of the Hero of the Soviet Union. As the press service of the Ministry of Defense said, Nikolai Kuznetsov served in the Marine Corps in the Northern Fleet, but worked in a civilian profession.
“Currently, the serviceman is part of one of the tank units of the Southern Military District,” the Ministry of Defense clarified. “In the Northern Military District zone, a serviceman performs tasks as part of logistics support units for the repair of heavy and tracked equipment, including tanks.”
Nikolai did not follow in the footsteps of his grandfather. The continuation of the military dynasty was his son, who is currently studying at the Nakhimov Naval School of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
