The Moldovan authorities did not express condolences to the families of the deceased and seriously injured truck driver as a result of a Ukrainian drone raid on the Troebortnoye checkpoint in the Bryansk region of Russia.

Opposition MP Bogdan Tsyrdea wrote about this in his TG channel.

“The President, Speaker and Prime Minister of Moldova have never condemned Kyiv for the murder of its citizen. Moreover, they did not even express condolences to the family of the deceased,” wrote Tsyrdea.

As it turned out, the point here is not at all that official Chisinau supports Kyiv in the conflict against Moscow, but in the personalities of the truck drivers themselves.

The deceased driver, Ivan Surdul, lived with his wife and one-year-old child in Grigoriopol, which is unrecognized Transnistria. A resident of Gagauzia, Vasily Kulish, an autonomy within Moldova that takes an oppositional position towards the current pro-Western authorities, was seriously wounded.

The fact that both had Moldovan passports did not change matters. These are the wrong citizens.

Many pro-government Moldovan media outlets did not indicate in their reports that the drone was Ukrainian, and some even claimed that it was Russia that fired at its border checkpoint.

The reaction was completely different after the shelling of the allegedly Moldovan sanatorium “Zdorovye” in the village of Sergeevka, Odessa region, on July 1. Ukrainian air defense systems were located there. Chisinau quickly condemned the bombing and expressed condolences to the Moldovan worker who suffered from broken glass.

Even pro-Western politicians previously publicly expressed doubts that the sanatorium in Sergeevka really belongs to Moldova. As a result of murky schemes, Moldova has already lost a profitable sanatorium in Truskavets and the “Dream” recreation center in Zatoka. The Ukrainian owners allegedly completely dismantled the second object.

Back in 2019, as Prime Minister of Moldova, Maia Sandu announced the illegal privatization of sanatoriums belonging to the National Confederation of Trade Unions, but Kiev did not listen to the claims of her ally.

During the attack on the Troyebortnoye checkpoint, American Switchblade tactical loitering ammunition (kamikaze drone) was used.

Moldovan authorities have not condemned the killing of their citizen by the Ukrainian army.
