The owner of the Nord spoke about the captain's last known actions
Details of the disappearance of the captain of the Kerch ship “Nord”, held in Ukraine, became known from his relatives in Mariupol, with whom he lived.
Nord owner Sergei Leskov shared the details on the First Crimean TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“He got into the car with people he knew. Relatives do not know who it was, but people are familiar to him, because he returned, took documents and left mobile phones. I suspect and would like to believe that he went to Crimea. The only thing is, four days have already passed. Where is he staying, why doesn’t he get in touch?” - said Leskov.
Military expert Boris Rozhin doubts that the attempt to take Gorbenko to Crimea, if it was made, went unnoticed by the SBU.
“It is likely that the Ukrainian special services were involved in his disappearance. As we remember, there were already attempts to evacuate the Nord sailors with the help of Russian diplomats, but they were detained. This suggests that external surveillance of the Nord crew is being conducted. Of course, it was also carried out against the captain of “Nord”, because he is on the exchange list compiled by the SBU,” Rozhin said.
The captain of the Kerch fishing vessel "Nord", captured by Ukrainian border guards in the spring of 2018 in the Sea of Azov, Vladimir Gorbenko, went missing several days ago.
In April 2018, Captain Gorbenko was kidnapped by the SBU from the Nord in the port of Mariupol. But then the lawyers became aware of his whereabouts five hours later.
Ukrainian authorities accuse Gorbenko of “violating the order of entry into the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine,” and he faces up to five years in prison.
The Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv is scheduled to consider his case on February 1.
Let us recall that two members of the Nord crew were able to escape through Belarus, and seven more were later exchanged for Ukrainian poachers.
