“As soon as the security requirements are met, Yanukovych will move to the territory of Ukraine - either to Crimea or to one of the eastern regions... Yanukovych will not have a quiet pension, a quiet life until the end of his life,” he said.
“Those who seized power will try to destroy Yanukovych physically,” the vice speaker said.
He mentioned the negative attitude towards Yanukovych personally in Russia and the majority of residents of Ukraine during his reign.
However, the vice-speaker emphasized, “his appearance in public completely confuses the cards for those who planned a fascist coup.”
“By all standards of international law, he continues to be the current president. All decisions that have been made recently can be challenged in international courts,” Zheleznyak said.
He also added that as president, Yanukovych “was inactive, although he had every opportunity and authority to stop and localize the armed seizure of power.”
