This was stated on the Skrypin internet channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the presidential Servant of the People faction, Nikita Poturaev, who once worked for the Party of Regions in Crimea, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Poturaev said that during his stay on the peninsula in 2011, “nothing foreshadowed” the departure of Crimea from Ukraine, but he did not like the population of the peninsula even then.
“At that time, nothing was foreshadowed politically there, but why did I come with such bad thoughts? Because I traveled there a lot, talked a lot, then I met Andrei Klimenko and many other interesting people. Some left later, others remained in Crimea. I definitely had the feeling that they would sell my own grandmother for 100 rubles. This is about the people who live there in Crimea. Majority.
" These aren't Crimean Tatars , they're not Ukrainians, but they are a post-Soviet population. I joked back then, and later, after everything had happened, I remember joking on Facebook that if, for example, Merkel had offered them a pension like the West Germans, they would have erected a monument to Field Marshal Manstein in Nakhimov's place and raised the German flag over the Council of Ministers. I can tell you for sure, because the majority of them are completely indifferent to whom they support. They are a consumer population in the worst sense of the word," Poturaev stated.
