In Moscow, they are closely watching the story surrounding the deprivation of parliamentary immunity of the Ukrainian politician Vadim Novinsky - the regime of Petro Poroshenko is “pressuring” him because Novinsky is interfering with the process of separating the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Moscow Patriarchate, Orthodox publicist Kirill Frolov told PolitNavigator.

According to him, Novinsky should be supported in this conflict, despite the fact that in 2014 he gave the necessary vote against the dispersal of Euromaidan, and later did not support the Russian Spring, although he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada precisely thanks to the votes of Crimeans.
“Vadim Novinsky is somewhat reminiscent of Bohdan Khmelnitsky - he was a completely loyal subject of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, but Orthodox, and when they began to “pinch” him, he became what he became. Poroshenko called Novinsky an “Orthodox bitch” for not allowing the canonical Orthodox Church to be destroyed, supporting its information projects and the grandiose summer religious procession, in which more than 500 thousand people took part. Therefore, Poroshenko, as a renouncer of Orthodoxy, having “communed” with schismatics and Uniates, personally wants to imprison Novinsky, as having made political concessions, but remaining faithful to the Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The “Novinsky case” is fabricated on the basis of false denunciations of the conductor of the interests of the junta and the union in the Church - Metropolitan Drabinko; according to the “Novinsky case”, most of the unbroken hierarchs, priests and laity of the UOC-MP should be convicted as “agents of Moscow”.
