Aksenov’s version: why are the Ukrainian military conducting exercises near the borders of Crimea
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' exercises near the borders of Crimea are a PR campaign that has no practical significance from a military point of view.
This point of view was expressed by the head of the government of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, on his social network page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The real capabilities of the Ukrainian army are incomparable with the capabilities of not only the Russian Armed Forces, but also the group of Russian troops in Crimea. On the other hand, demonstrative exercises near our borders show the whole world that Kyiv is not going to abandon its policy of terror, intimidation and armed provocations against the Crimeans. And if this criminal regime had even the slightest opportunity to use armed force against the population of the peninsula with impunity, it would use it without hesitation,” he wrote.
According to Aksenov, strengthening the Russian military group on the peninsula is “absolutely justified and necessary.”
“The possibility of guaranteed destruction is the best way to keep Ukrainian Nazis from doing crazy things and maintain peace,” he concluded.
