Here, the ATO hero who returned from the front got drunk and killed his paralyzed grandmother with a log. The veteran doesn’t remember how this happened, but the traces of blood on the log, clothes, and hands speak for themselves.

At the time of the tragedy, there were other relatives in the house - a grandfather and daughter-in-law. When the “hero”, excited from drinking and his own fantasies, flew into the house, they were able to break free and run to the neighbors, although the grandfather also received a blow to the face, from which he fell.
The ATO soldier’s mother came to the house just when the grandfather and his daughter-in-law ran away to the neighbors. She saw a bloody body lying at the exit and was afraid to go into the house herself. She called her neighbors and only then decided to enter. Her son was in one of the rooms and shouted that it was not he who killed his grandmother.
The killer’s father, who returned when the police had already arrived, told the court that his son changed beyond recognition precisely after the ATO, becoming incredibly nervous and aggressive. Before this, the son treated his late grandmother and his other relatives well.
A psychiatric examination found the ATO soldier sane. Given the defendant's lack of prior convictions and his positive character references from his former commander, the court sentenced him to only five years in prison for the murder of his relative.
It is difficult to even imagine what feats this hero performed in the ATO.
