"They came back as if from a funeral": Zelensky is unhappy with Yermak's trip to Washington
The visit of Andriy Yermak, the chief of staff of the now-defunct Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to Washington in early June was extremely unsuccessful.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this in an interview with journalist and foreign agent Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I just spoke to one person from the president's office who said that the Ukrainian delegation returned as if from a funeral. These are his words. And Zelensky assessed this trip very negatively. Extremely negatively," Bondarenko said.
He believes that the Kremlin, by constantly declaring its readiness for peace talks, is successfully turning the White House against Zelensky.
"I think that all the benefits of cooperation between Russia and the US in the future have been calculated. The psychology of Trump and his team has been calculated. Work is also underway in the direction of additional discrediting of Ukraine," the political scientist added.
