The Verkhovna Rada appealed to the UN with a complaint against Russia
Kyiv, March 13 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Verkhovna Rada adopted an appeal to the UN, which states that the actions of the Russian army in Crimea are inadmissible. The appeal will make it possible to hold a special session on the situation in Ukraine, explained deputy Irina Gerashchenko.

Some deputies considered the document overly diplomatic. The already mentioned Gerashchenko proposed in the text of the appeal a clause on the need to exclude Russia from the UN Security Council as an aggressor country.
“I think that the Verkhovna Rada should ask for the introduction of a peacekeeping contingent... We must understand that we cannot compete with the Russian Federation with our own military forces. We need not only appeals from the international community, but real help,” said deputy Oles Doniy.
“If the Russians introduced 20 thousand, we need to introduce 40 thousand. There will be no war, but there will be a basis for negotiations. No one will negotiate with you if you are not able to defend yourself,” MP Nikolai Rudkovsky supported the radical actions.
The appeal to the UN was supported by only 250 deputies - the Party of Regions faction refused to vote.
“We have advocated, are and will continue to advocate for the unity of Ukraine, we do not support the referendum in Crimea. But, if we vote for the corresponding statement, there are some points that are provocative in nature,” explained the “regional” Sergei Tigipko.
“For those who don’t vote, make the lists public, let the whole country know,” MP Oleg Lyashko from Batkivshchyna shouted in response.
