Kyiv, February 25 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Verkhovna Rada has appointed elections for the new mayor of Kyiv and the city council for May 25.

The corresponding decision was supported by 330 deputies. “I hope these will be transparent, honest, democratic elections,” said the moderator of the meeting, Alexander Turchynov.

Previously, the ruling Party of Regions refused to call elections in Kyiv, despite the fact that the term of office of the deputies expired in mid-2013.
