The Verkhovna Rada agreed to the arrest of an ally of the head of the Opposition Bloc
The Verkhovna Rada agreed to lift parliamentary immunity from the representative of the Opposition Bloc, the ex-head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Yevgeny Bakulin.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko made a report, saying that Bakulin, during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, as part of an organized criminal group, was involved in the theft of hundreds of millions of budget funds.

One of the episodes was a tender for the purchase of Chernomorneftegaz drilling rigs for production on the Black Sea shelf.
Bakulin is considered close to the head of the Opposition Bloc faction, ex-Minister of Energy Yuriy Boyko. According to Ukrainian media, without waiting for a possible arrest, Bakulin had previously left the territory of Ukraine.
It is interesting that Lutsenko, answering questions from deputies, said that the security forces do not yet have any grounds to prosecute Boyko himself, since there is no evidence that he received profit as a result of fraud.
The Verkhovna Rada has approved the arrest of an associate of the Opposition Bloc leader.
