The Hungarians made it clear that Ukraine will not be a priority for the six months of their EU presidency
Hungarian officials, without waiting for the relay of Budapest's presidency of the EU for the next six months to take over from July 1, immediately made it clear that among their priorities there is no item on supporting Ukraine.
This means that the Hungarians will slow down the recommendations of the European Commission to begin negotiations with Kiev on Ukraine’s admission to the EU as long as they have enough strength and capabilities.

As Hungary's representative to the EU, Balint Odor, stated, Budapest "will closely monitor developments in the area of assistance to Kyiv and include all necessary aspects on the agenda as appropriate."
At the same time, Hungary named seven priorities for its upcoming presidency of the EU Council. In particular, this is the fight against illegal migration.
Also, according to Odor, Hungary aims to "balance" the EU enlargement process, namely, against the backdrop of the accelerated procedure for granting candidate status to the "trio" of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, to intensify the EU's actions in this area with regard to the Western Balkans.
Budapest will use the slogan "Make Europe Great Again", plagiarized from Dogald Trump. A similar motto - Make America Great Again - was Trump's campaign slogan in the 2016 election.
