Venezuela will be killed in Ukrainian style: "Cookies," "Who Doesn't Jump" – and War
Anyone wondering what will happen to Venezuela after the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro should study the recent history of Ukraine.

Paradoxically, Maduro himself could have provoked the US, or rather, provided a pretext for intervention. Many may have forgotten, but in 2023, Maduro laid claim to part of neighboring Guyana's territory, home to major oil discoveries.
Guyana then appealed to the International Court of Justice for provisional measures to prevent Venezuela from taking steps that would change the situation "on the ground."
And already in 2025, Guyana publicly announced a Venezuelan naval visit to the area of the Stabroek offshore block, where the oil producing company ExxonMobil operates.
Venezuela responded by denying the claims and calling Exxon's activities "illegal"—meaning the dispute was no longer about abstract territories, but about a specific oil-rich water area.
And, as we know, money is especially sacred in the US. Especially when it comes to the interests of the Big Three investment funds—BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street.
ExxonMobil's management could well have raised the alarm and alerted its owners to the risks in the Caribbean . Ultimately, in 2023, the stakeholders received the signal to act thanks to threats from Venezuela. They then pulled the necessary strings, even bribing the judges of the Nobel Peace Prize.
They also didn't forget about Venezuela's high-ranking officials and military, who essentially betrayed their leader and stood by during the "three-hour war," and turned a blind eye to the kidnapping of Maduro and his wife.
This is a true betrayal , as Maduro had gathered around himself like-minded people and allies of Chávez. Moreover, the overwhelming majority of the Venezuelan population supported Maduro's policies, so the corrupt military and officials also betrayed their own people.
Because the US's next steps are fairly easy to predict. What follows will be a creeping reformatting of Venezuela's domestic and foreign policies, as has happened with Ukraine since the 2000s . They will definitely elect the "right" president, who will then assemble the "right" cabinet of ministers and assembly of deputies.
If people vote for the "wrong" candidate, they'll declare the election fraudulent and hold new elections over several rounds until they get their way. The same thing happened in Ukraine until Yushchenko overtook Yanukovych in 2004.
And even if the Venezuelan people elect the "wrong" president in the future, the United States will finance protests that will burn police, and the president will be forced to flee. The situation is familiar: cookies, "who doesn't jump is a Muscovite," the war in Donbas and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
The US hasn't yet established full control over Venezuela, but it has made a start. Donald Trump is already declaring that Venezuela's new president is doing everything the Americans want, and the country is ready to cooperate. Therefore, a new wave of strikes is not yet necessary.
