"You will live with the Russians for thousands of years": Jeffrey Sachs urged the EU to make peace with Moscow
The idea that Russia will follow Ukraine in trying to establish control over Europe is nonsense for children.
American economist Professor Jeffrey Sachs, considered one of the best economists in the world, stated this while speaking to members of the European Parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

«Russia had no territorial interests or plans regarding Ukraine.. I know, I was there in those years. Russia was negotiating a 25-year lease of Sevastopol until 2042, that's all. Not about Crimea, not about Donbass - nothing like that. The idea that Putin is restoring the Russian empire is childish propaganda. Sorry, if anyone knows anything about history, this is child's play, childish chatter seems to work better than adult chatter. So no plans...
We need to talk to the other side and find a way to reach an agreement. Russia is not going to invade Europe. That's the main thing. It can go to the Dnieper River, but it's not going to invade Europe. The main problem for Russia was the US, because Russia, as a major power and the largest nuclear power in the world, was deeply concerned about US unipolarity from the very beginning. Now that that seems to be coming to an end, Europe must negotiate directly with Russia because the United States will quickly lose interest. And you and Russia will live for thousands of years" said Sachs.
