In Yalta, after heavy rainfall, landslides intensified.
The movement of soil was facilitated by illegal construction projects, which, as it turns out, threaten to destroy similar illegal structures, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In the morning, in the center of Yalta on Sverdlov Street, the asphalt collapsed - part of the road and sidewalk collapsed. Pedestrian and car traffic is only on one lane. Moreover, this is the only direct direction from the city to Massandra; a detour must be made through the South Coast Highway.
“Today, in order to prevent possible incidents, employees of the Yalta Road Safety Department have fenced off the emergency area with plastic water tanks, and also installed temporary road signs. Action is being taken. Yalta residents are asked to be extremely careful and attentive when driving through the emergency section of the road,” said the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko.
After lunch, the manager had to drive onto the Yuzhnoberezhnoe Highway, where part of the slope collapsed. The reason for Yalta is banal - illegal construction work. Moreover, the house on the neighboring plot, which also belongs to unauthorized construction, was under threat - according to the documents, 100 square meters were intended for a garage.
“It is obvious that there were some anti-landslide measures here, which the person who illegally carried out work here simply demolished.
In Ukraine, the owner was allocated a plot of 100 m² for a garage. The garage could not be four stories high. We will now strengthen this slope in accordance with the methodology. But at the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is engaged in identifying the people who caused this damage.
The Ministry of Land Property is now dealing with the rights to this building. Analysis of the documents confirmed that this is not a house and could not be a house, because it is a non-residential premises. And how it was registered in Russian legislation, now everything will be sorted out by the Ministry of Land Property of the Republic of Crimea,” Pavlenko noted.
Based on the recommendations of the landslide management department, utility services have begun strengthening and backfilling the slope; then a capital work project will be developed. Yalta residents were urged not to start construction work without permission to avoid unpleasant surprises. Also report such facts to municipal control.
