The Verkhovna Rada proposes to place Ukrainian customs under US control
Kyiv, April 06 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukrainian customs should be transferred under the control of the United States or a European country like Germany and Switzerland in order to eradicate corruption.
The head of the Samopomich faction, Oleg Berezyuk, stated this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada conciliation council.

“We say there is no money. According to rough estimates, another budget of our country passes through customs. We have a proposal. Let's do it again, as we did in Bulgaria, Poland, Indonesia - there is a serious proposal to the Cabinet of Ministers to hand over our customs to the management of Swiss customs, German customs, American customs - for one year, for two years - this is an important international practice. And we will have 300 billion UAH, and we will not have to think about the minimum pension,” Berezyuk said.
Earlier, the new Minister of Economy Aivaras Abromavicius announced the need to sell strategic state-owned enterprises of Ukraine to Western investors.
The official proposes to unite the top 100 state-owned enterprises into holdings and transfer them to Western funds for management, as happened in Romania, where the Americans ensure the capitalization of once unprofitable assets and the payment of dividends, the minister claims.
