The US fears that after the war, Ukrainian Armed Forces veterans will join drug cartels.
Not only the West, but also drug cartels around the world have a particular interest in the experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, whose veterans will want to make money after combat.
Erik Prince , the founder of the American private military company Blackwater, announced this at the Odessa Black Sea Security Forum , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Another resource Ukraine has is hundreds of thousands of highly experienced veterans. And we hope that when the war ends and a peace agreement is reached, you will have a huge number of veterans who can be deployed in peacekeeping and stability operations to help transform the entire West.
“We are talking about a flexible, mobile and very effective armed forces , as opposed to those that are, I would say, ossified and overgrown with fat, as is often the case,” Prince reasoned.
"So please be careful when developing rules for PMCs. It's a very dangerous field, isn't it? Many cartels are interested in hiring such specialists.
So, craft your laws carefully, but give your veterans a real chance to earn and monetize their experience to help transform the armed forces,” the American advised.
