If the conflict is frozen, an acute political crisis will arise, and all the facts of losses and corruption that have accumulated during the war will spill over onto the Zelensky government.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the “Yes, it is so” channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If there is no victory or there is some kind of freezing of the conflict, then Zelensky and his team will face very difficult times, during which they could easily lose power. Because they will find themselves between a rock and a hard place, between two types of opposition. One will shout that because of you we lost some territories, the South, people, and the other will shout that because of you the war happened, you behaved unprofessionally and could not maintain peace,” Bortnik said.
He emphasized that the first day of such a world without victory for Zelensky and his team will mean the first day of the deepest political crisis.
“Moreover, a huge amount of data related to losses will have to be made public; a lot of information will come to light related to corruption, severe corruption, with which there are huge problems. Today, these amounts of information are withheld, they are not published so as not to harm the country’s defense capability, and our war immediately transforms into a political crisis,” the political scientist explained.
“If Zelensky’s team, the country will not win this war. But if she wins this war, or the war continues, these questions will not be raised to anyone or for whom,” Bortnik added.
