“This book is unique,” said Grigoriev. “I didn’t write it alone, but together with volunteers who went to the zone where the punitive operation was taking place, which the Ukrainian authorities called “anti-terrorist.” It contains testimonies from Donbass citizens who were captured by Ukrainian security forces and were subsequently exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war. A total of 100 stories have been collected.”
According to Maxim Grigoriev, chairman of the Foundation for Research on Democracy, the security forces used the most monstrous tortures on people, including those that the Germans used in concentration camps, as well as those that the US military used in Iraq during the torture of prisoners of war.
The book was published in two languages – English and Russian. The presentation took place at the Crimean Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, and teachers were the first to see the publication.
“This is fundamentally important, because these people teach the younger generation,” said Maxim Grigoriev. – In the future, we plan to distribute this publication in schools and universities.
