Already the eighth sturgeon farm is preparing to open in Crimea. Over the past few years, aquaculture production has become widespread - fresh, just-caught fish, mussels and oysters are supplied both for consumption within the republic and to restaurants in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Now Kerch has appeared on the map of sturgeon farms. Beluga, Russian, Siberian and Lena sturgeon, thorn, stellate sturgeon and sterlet will be found here by the beginning of next year, for which the investor is ready to spend more than 90 million rubles.
“The investment project provides for the creation of a unique sturgeon breeding complex. The fish will be grown in closed water supply systems,” noted Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alime Zaredinova. “By 2023, the company plans to produce 25 tons of sturgeon fish per year.”
Two years ago, a sturgeon farm opened in the Dzhankoy district. Having started with 10 tons per year, production quickly increases volumes and became the first in Crimea to receive a grant from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture for the implementation of the Agrotourism project. At the farm, tourists are ready to take a sightseeing tour, talk about the peculiarities of breeding, take a boat ride on the lake, go fishing and relax in the gazebo with the catch, which is the chef.
Grants from 3 to 10 million rubles are provided for the development of rural tourism. A small or micro-business entity that is registered in a rural area and has worked for at least 1 year can count on receiving it.
