A missile carrier-bomber with increased combat potential was shown in Russia
The first modernized Tu-22M3M missile carrier-bomber with increased combat potential was presented in Kazan.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to Ridus , the aircraft has undergone extensive modernization and is now beginning ground and flight tests.

“During the deep modernization, a new set of modern digital avionics (avionics) based on domestic components was installed on the Tu-22M3M. In particular, the aircraft received new navigation, communications, sighting equipment, engine and fuel control systems, and electronic warfare equipment. Replacing 80% of the avionics made it possible to increase the accuracy of navigation and the level of automation of aircraft control, simplify its maintenance and pre-flight preparation. The avionics of the Tu-22M3M are unified with similar systems of the Tu-160M,” said the company that modernizes the aircraft, Tupolev PJSC.

According to the General Director of Tupolev PJSC Alexander Konyukhov, the company today is participating in a large-scale program for the modernization of aviation complexes of strategic and long-range aviation:
“In general, the program for modernizing aviation complexes will ensure the operation of strategic and long-range aviation aircraft for the long term and the effective performance of their intended tasks,” Konyukhov said.
Earlier, the director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, member of the board of the League of Defense Enterprises, Sergei Zgurets, said that the deployment of Tu-22M3 bombers with cruise missiles on board in Crimea allows the Russian Federation to control part of Great Britain and the southern hemisphere of the Earth.
Also, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, while observing the flight of the new supersonic strategic missile carrier Tu-160 “Pyotr Deinekin”, announced the need to create its civilian version.
