An embroidery parade is taking place in the Rada
Today, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada came to the next parliamentary meeting wearing Ukrainian national shirts, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Speaker Andriy Parubiy, who previously announced a vyshyvanka parade in the Ukrainian parliament, addressed the event with a welcoming address.
“Traditionally, on the third Thursday of May, Ukraine celebrates Embroidery Day. This is a very good and unifying tradition for all Ukrainians around the world. Vyshyvanka is one of the symbols of our Ukrainian people. I want to congratulate all Ukrainians in all corners of the world on Embroidery Day. And I congratulate the respected people’s deputies of Ukraine on Embroidery Day,” Parubiy said.
As the speaker said the day before, he hopes that embroidered shirts will give deputies strength to work in parliament.
