Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeniy Muraev stated this on the air of the Ukrainian Format talk show, noting that as a result, Ukraine has lost traditional markets for its products and half of its GDP.
“When we signed the association, no one promised us membership - politicians lied to us and took you to the slaughterhouse in order to simply change power. What did we get as a result when we signed the association? We lost Russian markets, opened our own markets for European producers, and ourselves received restrictions, because in the economic part of the association agreement with the EU there is such a thing as quotas and standards, which our products do not comply with at all,” the politician recalled.
He added that the EU mainly buys Ukrainian industrial crops, which simply destroy black soil.
“We are not needed there and we cannot blame any of our neighbors for this... Today the entire South-East is at a standstill, we have lost half of the GDP, everything that was produced here, everything that went to medicine, education and everything else. During these four years we must understand that we lived in deception and myth...
If we artificially abandon our markets, if we receive restrictions from supposedly our partner, we do not have global investments in the reconstruction of our enterprises so that we meet these standards, then we are simply being used. Someone uses it to weaken a geopolitical opponent, I mean Russia, and someone uses it to extract all the resources from us - round timber, now they are using land reform to buy our black soils,” said Muraev.
