AvtoVAZ has launched sales of the most expensive version of the Lada, the flagship LADA Vesta Sport. The sporty version of the popular sedan is reportedly available in the top trim level, with prices starting at 1,009,900 rubles, reports PolitNavigator, citing the company's official website.
“The equipment includes a stabilization system, climate control, cruise control, multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats, rain and light sensors, and an audio system.” – the message says.
For the Multimedia package, which includes a rear view camera, a multimedia system with a navigator and a heated windshield, you will have to pay 1 rubles.
No sooner had the new product left the assembly line than it immediately had a sufficient number of both supporters and opponents.

“I don’t think the car will have high demand. We are used to seeing AvtoVAZ products in the mass segment. But now, in my opinion, the model is too expensive. In addition, it is not offered specifically as a sports car with an engine of 145 hp. and with acceleration of almost 10 seconds. Although the car was made beautiful and aggressive. This is more of a marketing ploy, attracting attention to the brand. I don’t think that AvtoVAZ is counting on any colossal demand for this model,” notes his colleague Andrey Lomanov.
A domestic sports car, according to Ilya Ogorodnikov, editor-in-chief of the Dvizhok magazine, is too expensive to compete with foreign sports versions of popular cars: “The cost of a Lada Vesta Sport in the range of 1-009 rubles is expensive. More expensive than the turbocharged Skoda Rapid and Polo GT, which are faster than the Lada in all respects. Perhaps there are requests from fans who are ready to buy the car, regardless of the price. Or perhaps future price increases were immediately included in the price, which will allow the price not to change in the near future.”
