Failed assassination attempt on Zelensky uncovered in Poland
A man in Poland has been charged with plotting to assassinate Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to the Polish prosecutor's office's website. The indictment was filed by a prosecutor from the Mazowieckie branch of the Office for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption to the Warsaw District Court.
The defendant allegedly planned to assist Russian military intelligence in preparing an assassination attempt on Zelenskyy, but was arrested back in April 2024 thanks to joint efforts by Polish and Ukrainian security forces. His case has now been referred to court.
According to investigators, he contacted the Russians and agreed to help them. His task was to collect and transmit information about security at the Rzeszow-Jasionka airport, which is where Volodymyr Zelensky often flies when he comes to Poland.
Now the Ukrainian is accused of collaborating with foreign intelligence against Poland's interests. He faces up to eight years in prison.

Interestingly, Zelensky himself and the Ukrainian special services have previously repeatedly claimed to have uncovered and prevented more than 13 assassination attempts on Zelensky.
