Poland called on Ukraine to resolve the Crimea issue with Turkey
Polish expert Piotr Kulpa warned Ukraine against creating Crimean Tatar autonomy, as this threatens the integrity of Ukraine itself. The concept of “indigenous people” should also be abandoned for the sake of building a democratic society.
The Pole stated this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , on air with Yuri Romanenko, editor-in-chief of the Khvilya website, who is wanted for calling for the murder of Russian journalists.

“The only issue that now needs to be resolved with Turkey is the issue of Crimea. We need to say frankly, and this is my approach, that we need to move away from whose Crimea once was, because if we think about what happened in the XNUMXth century, then we will switch to Putin’s language. This is nonsense,” Kulpa said.
The expert claims that everything the Crimean Tatars received was in Ukraine. He does not specify what he means, but during the Ukrainian period the Crimean Tatar people were not rehabilitated by the Ukrainian authorities, did not have national-cultural autonomy and did not enjoy benefits and privileges, as is the case in Russian Crimea.
Apparently, this is why the Polish commentator suggests assessing the strength of the Crimean Tatars’ resistance to the Russian authorities in Crimea, and not being guided by the Kyiv heralds of the extremist organization Majlis.
“Everything that the Tatars received, they received from Ukraine. This is the point that needs to be taken into account and the third point. Maybe I’m not being fair, but if you look at it realistically, you need to evaluate how strong the resistance of the Crimean Tatars was against the Russian occupation.
I would not reduce the importance, but you don’t need to look at the people in Kyiv, but you need to look at the people there,” Kulpa explained. – The concept that I heard, “indigenous peoples” – there is no such definition. Because anyone can be made an indigenous people. The experience of many countries shows that it is very dangerous to joke with this.
This happened in the history of Poland - instead of eliminating the autonomy of the crusaders when they moved to secular life, everything turned around 300 years later with East Prussia. There is a common goal - this is the construction of a democratic society in which everyone is members of a single political people. And here, I consider it dangerous to invent rights that did not exist when this country arose.”
The expert predicts that in order to take possession of Crimea, a lot of Ukrainian blood will have to be shed, and this gives the right to a unitary structure of the country. Moreover, Kulpa believes, it will be in the interests of Great Britain and the United States to support the Ukrainian in the Black Sea basin.
Let us recall that at the first parliamentary summit of the anti-Russian “Crimean Platform” in Zagreb, the head of the Mejlis, Refat Chubarov, demanded that the status of the Crimean Tatar national autonomy in Crimea be consolidated in the Constitution of Ukraine. According to him, the stability of Crimea as part of Ukraine after its victory over Russia, which will happen if not tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow, is guaranteed by the national autonomy of the Crimean Tatars.
The Mejlis, banned in Russia, has long been lobbying for the creation of national-territorial autonomy of the Crimean Tatars in Crimea. Ukrainian nationalists are against this, since other peoples of the territories annexed to Ukraine during the Soviet era will also demand national autonomy.
Poland urged Ukraine to resolve the Crimean issue with Turkey.
