Unlike in Donbass, in Kursk region the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not being squeezed out, but destroyed
The tactics of Russian troops in the Ukrainian-occupied part of the Kursk region differ from what is happening in the SVO zone.
Russian war correspondent Alexander Sladkov stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Question number one. What is the essence of our actions today in the Kursk region? Answer. The essence is that we are encircling the enemy and destroying them. If in Toretsk, if in Pokrovsk we were pushing out the enemy, if in Kurakhovo we were pushing them out, in Avdiivka, then in Mariupol we were encircling and killing. And today, too, we have the desire to encircle and kill. It turns out that the enemy brazenly approached us with several armored groups, which advanced directly along the roads, along the highways. When they encountered resistance, they stopped, dispersed like a flower in different directions, disbanded, subgroups went left and right, and they seized as much territory as possible. They captured Sudzha, a large, rich, luxurious regional center. They plundered it, took a huge amount of construction and specialized equipment to Ukraine...
At the very peak of the enemy's success in the Kursk region, they penetrated to a depth of 20 kilometers, and the gap was 40 kilometers wide. 40, do you understand? And it turns out we couldn't squeeze this gap because the enemy had left a large number of reserves behind them in the Sumy region . If we had tried to break through along the border, they would have struck us in the flank, and we would have been trapped. Today, we are encircling Sudzha and, what's more, we have crossed the Ukrainian border into the Kursk region. Even now, from our position in the Sumy region, we threaten the enemy from within their territory. We are encircling and destroying."
