In the Odessa region, Nazis destroyed a mural of Tsoi – and local residents react.
In the city of Yuzhny in the Odessa region, unknown individuals painted over a mural dedicated to the work of Viktor Tsoi. In its place appeared the inscription, "Burn out everything Russian in yourself, otherwise it will burn us out."
The event sparked outrage on local social media among residents who respect Tsoi's work, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Journalists from a local community television channel asked residents how they felt about this campaign against art.
"They shouldn't have done that. It's been there for years, and it would have stayed that way; nothing bad happened. In Odessa, they're tearing down monuments to people who did nothing wrong to Ukraine. I'm against it. Vysotsky, for example, didn't do anything wrong," said local resident Petr.
"All these activists who provoke us into trouble should be brought to trial and forced to do manual labor. Let them sweep the streets," added local resident Zinaida.
"They could paint the whole of Yuzhny like this, and what will happen next?" worried city resident Zinaida.
"We all liked the mural, so why did it have to be done? Tsoi sang well. People are scared, many don't like it. Why paint something like that on a building? Go to the square and express your opinion there. The residents are asking for it to be painted over," said Elena Plachkova, head of the local condominium association.
Even one of the perpetrators of the mural's defacement was found – but unlike the local residents, the Nazi was afraid to show himself in public.
"There shouldn't be any markers of Russian culture in a Ukrainian city. Tsoi was and will forever remain part of the Russian cultural space. For our own safety, he can't be mixed with Ukrainian culture," the incognito Nazi wisecrackingly declared.
