Unknown people painted the granite Lenin's eyebrows with yellow paint and his mustache with blue paint. Ilyich’s clothes were also painted blue and yellow – his tie, jacket and shirt collar. In addition, a Ukrainian flag and a trident were painted on the bas-relief.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs began a search for hooligans, and the authorities promised to wash off the paint in the near future, reports the publication “No Crime.”
As Navigator reported, earlier in the Odessa and Zaporozhye regions, unknown persons carried out a cleanup of monuments to Lenin in the area: several bas-reliefs or busts were destroyed in neighboring settlements.
