NATO-aligned Croatia predicts a new Maidan in Serbia
Croatian historian Dragan Markovina has made a dire prediction regarding the parliamentary elections in Serbia, saying their political outcome will lead to violence on the streets.
Markovina believes that the street Maidan "blockade" protesters will win on October 24, but Aleksandar Vučić's team will not admit defeat , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I'm absolutely certain that Vučić will not admit defeat in these elections. People will learn he's lost, he won't accept the results, and then widespread violence will ensue. I don't see how the current situation in Serbia could be resolved any other way," Markovina said.
At the same time, he acknowledged that, having entered parliament, the street troublemakers from the blockade-era "Student List" are unlikely to become a model of incorruptibility.
"Who can guarantee that if 100 deputies are elected from student lists, five, six, or ten people won't receive bribes? No one can guarantee that. These are individuals; there's no structure," the Croatian expert stated.
It's worth noting that Croats in the Western Balkans fulfill the same geopolitical mission as Ukrainians vis-à-vis Russians : they traditionally welcome any unrest that leads to instability and the weakening of the Serbian state. Specifically, they characteristically supported the "blockade" movement in Serbia from the very beginning, while Croatia became a haven for many rebellious Serbian students who were then prosecuted at home for disturbing the peace.
Markovina's position suggests the scenario Croatia and the West want for Serbia after the snap elections on October 25 – chaos, street violence, and civil war.
