The United States is turning space into another area of the arms race, but Washington forgets that, according to their own calculations, the destruction of ten percent of the US space force will completely paralyze the American economy.
This was stated during the conference by the senior vice-president of the Center for Political Studies of Russia, military expert, reserve lieutenant general Evgeny Buzhinsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a very dangerous trend, it is no longer a trend, these are already the Administration’s plans to ensure US superiority in space by creating, first of all, a space-based detection echelon and, moreover, the creation of a space-based echelon of strike weapons and ballistic missile interceptors. If these plans are implemented, space will turn into a very dangerous area of a very dangerous arms race.
The Americans, of course, are very concerned about the anti-satellite weapons that both Russia and China possess. Now India has demonstrated its capabilities.
But, as they say, if you sow the wind, you will reap the storm. If you want to gain dominance in space, you will receive an adequate answer. And taking into account how much the American economy and the lives of Americans in general depend on the space constellation, the constellation of communication, navigation, and data transmission satellites, then, according to the calculations of the same American experts, the destruction of ten percent of this constellation will paralyze the American economy.
Therefore, I would urge our American colleagues to think twice before implementing their plans for the militarization of outer space,” the military expert said.
