In Moscow they are talking about a new war: Poroshenko rejected all of Putin’s main initiatives
Kyiv, February 11 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukraine does not agree to any of Russia’s key proposals to resolve the crisis in Donbass.
This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko at a Cabinet meeting in Kyiv before negotiations in Minsk with the presidents of the Russian Federation, France and Germany.

“Ukraine was and will be a unitary country. This fully corresponds to the attitude of the Ukrainian people towards this. More than 86% are on the side of a unitary state... They persistently want to export the idea of federalization to us from a neighboring state...
Federalization is a seed that will not take root on Ukrainian soil,” Poroshenko said.
“We will not have any delegation of rights in defense. There will be no local battalions, people's militias, etc. This also applies to foreign policy,” the Ukrainian president clarified.
“We will not have a compromise on the issue of language. A single state language,” the head of state assured.
Russian political scientist Sergei Markov believes that, in this way, a truce will be reached in Minsk, but both sides will be preparing for a new war.
“A tactical truce will most likely be achieved. Its essence: an exchange, stopping the offensive of the Armed Forces in exchange for the end of the Armed Forces’ terrorizing shelling of residential areas and infrastructure of Donbass cities,” the expert argues.
However, Markov believes, “strategic peace is impossible.”
“His formula is Ukraine’s transition to democracy, that is, federalism, freedom of speech, freedom of political opposition activity, fair elections of the president and parliament. If this happened, then the amnesty would be for military actions, but not for terror against civilians. This means that the murder on May 2 in Odessa, on May 9 in Mariupol, the use of prohibited cluster and phosphorus bombs against Donetsk, all this would not be covered by the amnesty. This means that Turchinov, Avakov, Nalyvaichenko, Parubiy and others would have gone to prison. They do not want to. Therefore, there will be not peace, but a truce according to the September version; both sides will actively prepare for battles and fight the economic crisis and social protest,” the expert predicts.
