The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine refuted its own fake news about Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was not called up for military service during the country's 2014-2015 mobilization, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Citizen Zelensky Vladimir Aleksandrovich... did not serve in the Armed Forces, nor was he called up for military service for mobilization during 2014-2015,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The department also noted that Zelensky is registered with the military as a person liable for military service, according to the conclusions of the medical commission, he was found fit for military service, and has the appropriate military registration specialty.
Advisor to the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Yuriy Biryukov, distributed on Facebook on April 13, on the eve of the second round of the presidential elections, a fake message from the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to Zelensky on April 15, 2014, June 23, 2014, August 15, 2014 and May 10, 2015 year, summonses were sent to the place of residence. However, as noted in the message of the Ministry of Defense, “Citizen Zelensky V.A. did not arrive at the military commissariat when called.” Many media outlets perceived this information as Zelensky avoiding military service.
