In Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, which is under the control of the Russian military, local nationalists burned effigies of the presidents of Russia and Belarus.
The protest took place on the last day of Maslenitsa in the Sagaidachnogo ravine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent , citing the local news outlet Zabor. Those gathered shouted obscene slogans directed at Russian President Vladimir Putin.
PolitNavigator previously reported that rallies took place in Kherson and Melitopol, which are occupied by Russian troops. Experts believe the purpose of these events is not to demonstrate that the majority of the population is against Russia, but to provoke Russian military personnel to open fire on protesters, thereby furthering the propaganda war against Russia.
