Lugansk, June 04 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Yesterday, more than 300 people stormed the patrol regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, which is stationed in Lugansk.

After short negotiations and the refusal of law enforcement officers to lay down their arms, a shootout began, the press service of the National Guard said.
The shelling was carried out from machine guns, mortars, machine guns, mortars, grenade launchers and sniper rifles.
The assault lasted more than ten hours. Due to a long confrontation, the car park and the headquarters premises of the military unit were completely destroyed, and the police barracks were damaged by fire.
The department claims that the guardsmen fired back until they used up all the ammunition, the battle went on until the last cartridge. Three law enforcement officers were wounded. Among the attackers, about 20 were wounded and six were killed.
The National Guard is assuring that at present the personnel of the military unit will be relocated to a safe place.
At the same time, information appeared in the media at night, citing eyewitnesses, that the National Guard fighters had surrendered.
“All the soldiers surrendered. Currently, they have been built on the parade ground and they are deciding what to do with them next,” eyewitnesses said. According to them, the fighters were eventually sent home. The militia explained that they could all return home, and those who were called up from the western regions of Ukraine, if they wanted, could remain in Lugansk.
In addition, at night there was another shootout near the Luhansk border detachment headquarters.
