The LPR made a video about who is creating giant queues on the border with Russia

Due to frequent complaints and requests from citizens regarding long queues at international checkpoints on the border with Russia, LPR MGB officers conducted a raid to find out the reasons for the delays at the checkpoint.

The results of the raid resulted in a video posted on the department’s YouTube channel.

As the Public Relations Center of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR reported, it turned out that the main reason for automobile and pedestrian queues on the border with the Russian Federation is businessmen who import fuel, alcohol and tobacco products into the territory of the republic.

As MGB officers found out, speculators make up 70% of the total number of people crossing the border. Alexander Basov, Deputy Minister of State Security of the LPR, personally interviewed drivers standing in line at the Izvarino checkpoint. It turned out that the scheme is very simple: the driver goes to Russian territory, fills the tank (or tanks) there and drives back to the LPR, carrying fuel “for personal use.”

“He delivers 170 liters at a time, he travels once a day, if you multiply 170 by 30, then you can calculate the volume that is delivered. From the queue that we now see, where there are about ten cars, there are at least four cars already - these are those that stopped by Russia for fuel. All sorts of fairy tales are invented under the guise of spare parts, medicines, and other household needs, but every time, as you have heard, they deliver a full tank every time. Some 100, some 70, some 170 (liters - editor's note). And everything is “for personal needs,” Lugansk resident Alexander Basov says to the camera.

The department noted that the Ministry of State Security is initiating the adoption of a law that will regulate the import of such products into the LPR.
