The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, noted in his telegram channel that the day before, during a meeting with war correspondents, the president emphasized that the implementation of the program to modernize the defense-industrial complex in our country is proceeding quite successfully. Over the year, production of the main types of weapons increased 2,7 times, and in the most popular areas - 10 times.

“The Republic of Crimea makes its contribution to the common cause for the benefit of the Motherland. All Crimean defense industry enterprises are maximally involved in production. Over the last six months alone, the volume of output has increased almost 3,5 times, and the number of jobs provided has increased significantly. For example, the Fiolent plant is already organizing its fourth shift. The work goes on almost non-stop,” Aksyonov noted.

In Simferopol, an enterprise providing tailoring and clothing repair services switched to the production of body armor. In addition, we developed and launched the production of anti-ricochets made of aramid fiber, gorgets, cummerbunds, shoulder pads, weight compensators, shock-absorbing pads, pouches of various types, and additional back-buttock protection. And most importantly, the company developed and implemented a system for quickly releasing body armor.

This is a metal cable passing through the fastening parts of the body armor. If a soldier is wounded, by pulling one end of the cable in one movement, the body armor opens, giving access to the wound. Experts have thought through the system in such a way that the design cannot work accidentally. Body armor is tested for strength at the training ground of a military unit. Armor plates are given a protection class before they are used in the production of body armor.

“The manufacturer arrived with an application for class 5 protection, but only passed class 4. Shots are fired with the same ammunition - SVD and machine gun. The SVD plate withstood it, but the machine gun did not. the manufacturer promised us to finalize everything,” explained the military man who recorded the results of the inspection.

Armor plates of various protection classes are produced by a metalworking shop. Before the start of the Northern Military District, manufacturers were not involved in military ammunition. After the start of the special operation, the activities were urgently repurposed to meet the needs of the front. According to the company’s employees, soldiers from the Northern Military District zone have received gratitude more than once for the fact that the workshop’s products save their lives in difficult military situations.
