This was stated by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin.
“Investigative bodies of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea, as part of the investigation of a criminal case about organizing and participating in mass riots, detained one of the leaders of the public organization Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Akhtem Chiygoz,” Markin noted.
Let us recall that in the confrontation outside the Crimean parliament on November 26, supporters of the Majlis, emphasizing the exclusively peaceful nature of their civil actions, came to the rally with bottles filled with an unknown liquid and used military gas at the end of the action. After blowing up the entrance doors of the Supreme Council, youths from among the Crimean Tatars burst into the building, causing riots there.
As a result of the clashes, Simferopol residents Valentina Korneva and Igor Postny died.
